With a new addition to the stable, we now have five cars between two drivers. I would love to keep all of them, but I am simply running out of room on the driveway and on the street. Besides, amassing too many cars definitely doesn’t go with the minimalist lifestyle that I am trying to achieve. So reluctantly, the time has come to sell a couple of my cars. Err, did I say a couple? I meant one, honey.

Being the “extra” sports car, my 2013 Scion FR-S seems to always be up for consideration, despite it being one of my all-time favorite cars. I still remember that exciting day when I bought it, paying full retail, no less. When I pay retail for something, it has to be good!

For all these years, I managed to resist the boy racer in me and kept the car stock except for some minor cosmetic changes and, of course, the TRD lowering springs. Gotta reduce that massive space between the tires and the wheel wells. The FR-S is incredibly balanced and fun to dive. It is the ideal car to take the long way home to attack the windy roads in Little Tujunga Canyon. After one trip to Vegas (SEMA show), two track days, and three sets of tires, I guess it is time to say sayonara.

The other car also up for selling is the rear-wheel-drive 2014 BMW X1. It has been a very good family car with great performance and is super reliable. We took it to countless trips to parking lots of Costco and Korean restaurants. It is also perfect for road trips. We have so many fond memories of this car.

I hate to see any of them go. I was flip-flopping between these two cars. Keeping the practical BMW is the sensible thing to do. As you probably agree, being a car enthusiast is seldom sensible. So Scion Nara or the Axed One? Check out my Facebook posting to find out. I am hopeful that it will go to a good home.
